Mr. Hershel Edward Campbell, age 89, from the Scribners Mill Community in Culleoka, passed away on March 31st, 2022 at NHC Oakwood, Lewisburg.

Hershel was born on September 15, 1932, to John Alexander Campbell, Sr. and Susie Ann Riggins Campbell.  He was a member of Scribners Mill Church of Christ and retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company after 25 years of service.  Hershel enjoyed spending time with Maggie and his family, doing yard work, watching TV, trips to McDonald’s and he definitely enjoyed eating ice cream.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Maggie Lois Campbell, sisters Olivia Blalock and Mable Ann Beard and brothers Luther Thomas Campbell, John Campbell, Jr., Harold Campbell, Donald Campbell and Billy Ray Campbell.

Hershel is survived by step-children, Betty Jo Higdon (Tommy) and Charles Osborne (Nancy), six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, April 3rd, at Scribners Mill Cemetery with Bryan Basham officiating.  The family will receive friends at the cemetery beginning at 1pm until the service begins at 2pm.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Oakwood Health Care and to his special caregiver, Ann Owens.
