Hilda Ann Wells Stevens Reid

Hilda Ann Wells Stevens Reid, age 70, a resident of the Antioch community in Nashville, TN, passed away surrounded by her loving family on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at the Alive Hospice Residence Nashville.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. A graveside gathering will also be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at Lynnwood Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 31, 1949 in Lewisburg, TN, “Annie” was the daughter of Mary Thomas Wells and Woodrow Wilson Wells, and the sister of Paul Wells, all of whom preceded her in death. She worked for the Girls Scouts of Middle TN, Crest Cadillac, American General and Walden Security Company. She enjoyed traveling, concerts, collecting Santas, and family reunions. After meeting Karen Carpenter, she named her daughter in honor of and appreciation for The Carpenter’s music which helped her through difficult times. The last concert she was able to attend before becoming homebound was Neil Diamond. It meant the world to her and the music reached her when she could recognize little else.

She is survived by: husband, Larry Reid; son, Jason Stevens (daughter-in-law Pamela Irvin Stevens); daughter, Karen Stevens Wood (son-in-law Dylan Wood); and grandchildren Ava Cowman, Natalie Claire Stevens and Cora Lilly Stevens.

The family greatly appreciates the loving care of Annie’s faithful and dedicated caregiver, Danielle (Visiting Angels), whose patience, love, and gentle care insured the best possible quality of life anyone could hope for during her last years.

Pallbearers will be: Jason Stevens, Dylan Wood, Larry Reid, James Davis, and Gaelyn Wood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Alive Hospice (1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203).
