Howard Fitzgerald

Mr. Howard Bernard Fitzgerald, age 74, a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 2-4PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 25, 1946 in Thompson’s Station, Howard was the son of the late Paul Fitzgerald and the late Elizabeth McCullough Fitzgerald. He enjoyed spending time with his nephews, gambling, and mustang cars. You could often find him sitting outside under the tree in his yard.

He is survived by his siblings: Mary Brown of Franklin, Martha Jean Fitzgerald of Columbia, Isom (Valerie) Brown of Maryland, Robert (Gail) Fitzgerald of Columbia, Herbert Fitzgerald of Columbia, Bobby (Tamra) Fitzgerald of Mt. Pleasant, Margie Fitzgerald of Columbia, Emma Fitzgerald of Columbia, Lisa (Marshall) Brooks of Columbia, John (Verba) Fitzgerald of Columbia, Henry Fitzgerald of Columbia; devoted friends: Betty Baugh, Joyce Holt, Tommy Caldwell, Billy Thompson, Thomas Franklin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Gordon Fitzgerald, Wayne Fitzgerald, Emma Steele, Paul Fitzgerald; nephew, Rodney Hatton; and niece, Cindy Fitzgerald.
