He was a 1957 graduate of Morris Chapel High School where he served as the Class Vice President. He sang on the radio station WORM in Savannah. While stopping at his sister’s house in Columbia when traveling to Nashville to become a singer, he fell in love with a beautiful girl on a bicycle and decided to stay in Columbia with his soul mate. Ed previously worked as a foreman for Monsanto Chemical Company and later owned Ed Jarrett Realty for approximately forty years. He enjoyed wood working and especially loved fishing. Ed served as a mason and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
