Hugh Wesley "Wes" Pierce

Hugh Wesley “Wes” Pierce, age 69, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on September 30, 1953, in Maury County, Wes was the son of the late Hugh Alexander Pierce and the late Hattie Mae Mosley Pierce. He loved his country and served in the United States Air Force, Marine Corps, Army, and Tennessee National Guard. He was a foreign car mechanic and did bodywork. He worked twenty years for J&S Painting and JD Painting at Maury Regional Medical Center. Wes was an avid University of Tennessee football fan who loved animals, enjoyed playing cards, and was a genius at working crossword puzzles. A true outdoorsman, he also enjoyed fishing and camping. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

He is survived by his sisters, Faye (George) Pavel of Centerville, Jean (Howard “Punkin”) Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Hugh Pierce and sister, Angela Pierce Adams.
