Jack Burchfield

Jack Burchfield, age 91, husband of Frieda Burchfield, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, the 25th of May 2022.

Please join in celebrating his life on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 11:30 AM at Heritage Funeral Home, 609 Bear Creek Pike, Columbia, TN, with Bishop Michael Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Army. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jack was born on October 30, 1930, in Asheville, North Carolina and was the son of the late Walter Burchfield and the late Delcie Ensley Burchfield. He was a Korean War veteran and a retired Teamster, but his dearest title is one of husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He is survived by his sweetheart and wife of seventy years, Frieda N. Burchfield, daughter, Rhonda A. Jones of Columbia, TN, sons, Jack W. Burchfield of Columbia, TN and Timothy D. (Darlene) Burchfield of Florida, eight grandchildren, Jolie (Steven) Gilchrist, Olivia (Raymon) Ramsey, Whitney (Jose) Saldana, Scarlett Jones, Presley (Mason) Huba, Gracey Burchfield, Lindsey Burchfield, Blake Burchfield, and seven great grandchildren, Violet, Asa, Bear, Finnegan, and Oakes Gilchrist, Briar Ramsey, and Ariel Saldana.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Hart and Betty Sue Campbell, and three brothers, Walter “Buddy” Burchfield, William “Bill” Burchfield, and James “Jim” Burchfield.

The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Caris Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Mason Huba, Jose Saldana, Raymon Ramsey, Steven Gilchrist, Blake Burchfield, and Bear Gilchrist.
