Jackie Elton Potts

Jackie Elton Potts, age 90, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Morning Pointe of Tullahoma.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Allen Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Jackie’s family and friends will serve as pallbearers. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Columbia, Jackie was born on March 27, 1933, and was the son of the late Elton Potts and the late Morren Warren Potts. He was a 1952 graduate of Columbia Central High School and retired as a manager from Kroger after many years. After graduation, he married Nancy Buchanan; she preceded him in death on February 24, 2009. Jackie was a longtime farmer, and in 1979 was awarded Maury County Farmer of the Year. He enjoyed wood turning and was a member of the Duck River Wood Turners Association. Jackie was a member of Faith Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Betsy (Lee) Estabrooks, grandchildren, Stacey (Nick) Standfield, Ryan (Erika) Estabrooks, great grandchildren, Jack, Buchanan, Lily Standfield, sister in law, Priscilla Potts, devoted nephew, Jeff (Susan) Potts, devoted niece, Cathey Baker, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Potts and sister in law, Ellen Blair Cathey Potts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Faith Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 920 Bear Creek Pike, Columbia, TN 38401.
