Mrs. Jacquelyn Kay Bliss, age 70, wife of John Bliss and a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday evening, January 24, 2022, at her residence with family by her side.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Blevins officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 12, 1951, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Jackie was the daughter of the late Elton Eugene Leach and the late Loretta Nelson Leach. After only dating for three months, she married John Bliss on October 25, 1969. She enjoyed painting ceramics, playing the piano, and playing cards. She also often loved watching the hummingbirds and deer on their property, but her biggest passion was spending time with her family. She was strong in her faith and was an example of that to her family. Jackie attended First Family Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, John Eugene (Amanda) Bliss of Columbia, daughter, Nicole Lorene (Dony) Smith of Smyrna, and grandchildren, Nathaniel Bliss, Amelia Bliss, Alexys Smith, and Izabella Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.
