James Edward Cummings

Mr. James Edward Cummings, 65, resident of Nashville, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

James was born on March 30, 1959 in Knoxville, TN and was the son of the late Bobbie Marie Cummings. James married Dianna Denson Cummings and they celebrated thirty-eight years of marriage. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. James enjoyed being outdoors hunting and camping, was an avid NASCAR fan, supporting his friends racing, and playing horseshoes every Wednesday with friends, and watching his children’s sporting events. He was a skilled painter and owned his own painting business, Cummings Painting. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Christopher (Erin) McCord and Hunter Cummings, sister, Teresa Henderson, grandchildren, Natalie McCord and Peyton McCord, as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins. 

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Cummings, sister, Kathy Hoskins, and brother in law, Charlie Henderson.
