Mr. James ‘Jim” Edward Daub, age 77, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee; formerly of Akron, Pennsylvania, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020, under hospice care, at his residence.
The family will celebrate his life with services at a later date at Memory Gardens Veterans Cemetery in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 19, 1943 in Kerrmoor, Pennsylvania, Jim was the son of the late Clifford Daub and the late Elaine Dimmick Daub. He was married thirty-nine years to the love of his life, Margaret “Peggy” Conaway Daub, who only he called by the special name he gave her, “Maggie.” He loved spending time with his wife and traveling back home to Clearfield, Pennsylvania to visit their families. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2006. Jim served in the United States Navy as a gunners mate and firefighter on the USS Charles P. Cecil. He retired from Advanced Food Products after more than forty years. Jim was an avid hunter and loved to fish.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Michelle (John) Hie of Columbia, who cared for him in his own home to the end; son, Scott Edward Daub of Columbia; grandchildren: Dakota Daub, Derek, Tyler, and Macy Whitcraft; six great grandchildren; brothers: William (Virginia) Daub, Ronald (Sandy) Daub, Roy (Melissa) Daub, Gerald (Brenda) Daub; sisters: Shirley Daub, Geraldine Daub, Kim “Dolly” Coulter; and many nieces and nephews, and a special sister in law Deb (Don) Conaway Grace.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Ray Daub.
In lieu of flowers, and in memory of his loving wife Peggy, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Fund: 4009 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 209, Nashville, TN 37215.
