James Ray Favors

Mr. James Ray Favors, age 84, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019 at Life Care Center.

He will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

James was born on May 2, 1935 in Dearborn, Michigan and was the son of the late Raymond F. Favors and the late Sarah I. Hill Favors. He loved playing pool and singing. He was a wonderful, prideful, strong and independent man who lived life to the fullest. James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his Daughters: Marcia (Bill) Smotherman, Glenda (Paul) Brandner, Janet (Steven) Martindale; Son In Law, Timothy Beck; Grandchildren: Damon, Christina Michelle, Phillip III, Jason, Jessica, Danielle, Dennis, Jennifer, Zack, and James; Great Grandchildren: Tyler, Tiffany, Phillip IV, Ashley, Jayce, Jeremiah, Julian, Tristen, Cash, and Maisie; Siblings: Frank (Donna) Favors, Eugene (Carol) Favors, and Shirley Favors Perry; and many more other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Daughter, Kathy Darlene Favors Beck on August 9, 2019; and Son, James Ray Favors, Jr.
