James "Jimmy" W. Allen

Mr. James “Jimmy” Walton Allen, age 86, husband of Willie Mai Allen and a resident of Lawrence Street in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday morning, June 18, 2019 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 2:30PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Danny Grooms officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on March 13, 1933 in Maury County, Jimmy was the son of the late John Harvey Allen and the late Tempie Virginia Rochelle Allen. He married Willie Mai McCoy on December 27, 1950 and together they had two children. Jimmy worked many years in maintenance at Stauffer Chemical Company in Mt. Pleasant before retiring in 1990. He was a volunteer firefighter and volunteer police officer in Mt. Pleasant for several years. Jimmy was a member of Allensville Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He had a great sense of humor and was always cutting up with others.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Gayle McNeese of Columbia, Carolyn (Tommy) McCormick of Mt. Pleasant; brothers: Jerry Cecil Allen of Mt. Joy, William Allison (Maude) Allen of Mt. Joy, Steve (Cathy) Allen of Mt. Joy; brother in law: Curtis (Sue) McCoy of Hampshire; sister in law: Annie Edmonston of Williamsport; grandchildren: Amanda Jill Barker Thompson, Jason Alan Barker, John Wesley (Misty) McNeese, Sharon (Jimmy) Love; great grandchildren: Hayden (Alex) Love, Hunter Love, Clayton McNeese, Caige McNeese; his little buddy: Maelynn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son in law: Myron McNeese; sister: Nancy Allen; and brother: Harry Allen.

Pallbearers will be: Charles McCoy, Richard Allen, Mickey Allen, Ronnie Allen, Michael Allen, Tom Hughes, Hunter Love, and Billy Wood. Honorary pallbearers will include: Allen McCanless, Steven McCanless, Mike Yearby, Jimmy Faye Andrews, David McNabb, Edna Goodman, Thelma Wood, and Dr. Amit Choksi.
