James Odie Cummins of Columbia, Tennessee

March 14, 1942 - August 17, 2023

Odie Cummins, age 81, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

The family will celebrate his life with a private service at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on March 14, 1942, in Maury County, Odie was the son of the late William Kenneth Cummins and the late Lillian Thomas Cummins. He worked most of his life as a small engine repairman. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles. Although he was a homebody who preferred to keep to himself, he loved his family and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Wanda (Kenneth Brown) Thompson of Culleoka, sisters, Mildred (Otis) Whitley of Columbia, Fay Dodson of Ethridge, grandchildren, David Ray Harden, Heather McCormack, great grandchildren, Treysen McCormack, Connor Clegg, Noah Clegg, the mother of his daughter, Rachel Cummins, special nephew, Kenny White, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, William Harlan Cummins and Shirley Mitchell.
