James Ronald Stapleton of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee

November 9, 1932 - December 3, 2020

James Stapleton, age 88, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born November 9, 1932 in Ann Arbor, MI, son of the late Chester and Naomi Robinson Stapleton and husband of Norma Rennie Stapleton. He worked in sales for many companies and for the USDA. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and collecting guns. James was an avid hockey fan and he played hockey until he was 86 years old.

In addition to his wife of 69 years, he is survived by his children: Michael James Stapleton II, Timothy John Stapleton, Debra (David) Shutts, Teri Druse and Tammy Stapleton; a brother: Jack Stapleton; sisters: Margaret Gufston and Susan Stapleton; grandchildren: Brianna Blair, Jonathan Druse, Nicholas Shutts, Stephanie Glover, Ashley Stapleton, Trey Stapleton and Joshua Stapleton; 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son: Michael James Stapleton I and a brother: Bob Stapleton
