Mr. James Carol Sullivan, age 83, a resident of Lewisburg, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Arthur Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and again on Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on October 19, 1937, in Williamson County, James was the son of the late Samuel Cantrell Sullivan and the late Allie Mai Marlin Sullivan. He served in the United States Army and previously worked for the National Rolex Corporation. He was a farmer and often enjoyed working in the hay field with Calvin. James loved antiquing, playing cards, and traveling.
He is survived by his sons, Calvin (Midge) Sullivan of Lewisburg, James Eugene “Gene” Sullivan of Columbia, sisters, Shirley Phifer of Ethridge, Glenda (M.D.) Henslee of Culleoka, grandchildren, Katlyn (Benjamin) Laskey, Caitlin Sullivan, Dewayne (Kala) Sullivan, Timmy Hazelwood, Josh Hazelwood, Christian Crabtree, Robin Boyzo, Savannah Smith, Marty Smith, Michael Dodson, and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Carolyn Rebecca Sullivan, Betty Sue Crabtree, and brothers in law, Adron Phifer and Calvin Fitzgerald.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Fitzgerald, Tommy Fitzgerald, Mark Love, Dewayne Sullivan, Kenneth Riddle, and Ben Laskey. Honorary pallbearers will include Justin Fitzgerald and Josh Riddle.
