James "Tooter" Ray Fralix of Columbia, Tennessee

March 30, 1947 - April 7, 2021

Mr. James “Tooter” Ray Fralix, age 74, husband of Linda Gail Fralix, and a resident of Columbia, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the ones he lived for and loved on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, after a nine year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Mike Dodrill and Bill Yancey officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 4-7PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in the Garden of Freedom in Maury Memorial Gardens. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, James was born on March 30, 1947 and was the son of the late James Edward Fralix and the late Frances Geraldine Moss Fralix. He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and married Linda Gail Stinnett on September 27, 1964. James and his wife were the sole owners of Fralix Electric Heating & Air Conditioning for over thirty years. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam as a U.S.S. Arlington radioman and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America formerly Chapter 128. He was a member of Knob Creek Baptist Church.

James was an avid pilot who loved flying his Cessna 150. James also loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was the proud Paw of his three grandsons who he personally nicknamed “Dooker,” “Boo Boo,” and “Bam Bam.”

In addition to his wife, Linda, of fifty-six years, he is survived by his son, James Glenn (Dawn) Fralix of Weekly, TN; daughter, Stephanie Fralix (Corey) Culberson of Spring Hill, TN; sisters: Paulette Fralix Alley, Jackie Fralix; grandchildren: Justin Culberson, Brandon Culberson, James Garett Fralix; sisters in law, Sue (George) Butterworth, JoAnn Davidson; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his special aunt, Mae Nell Moss; uncle, Joe Moss; maternal grandparents, Toy & Beulah Grindstaff Moss; and paternal grandparents: Harvey & Gladys Doggett Fralix.

Vietnam Veterans will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America formerly Chapter 128, c/o Johnny Patterson: 2358 Lee Road, Spring Hill, TN 37174.
