Jason Dae Franklin, age 24, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 10AM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on March 22, 1994 in South Korea, Jason was the son of Jay Franklin and Cathy Neubauer Franklin. He most recently worked as a bakery clerk for Publix but wore many hats while working there for many years. He enjoyed Pokémon, Disney, and going fishing and was a huge Captain American fan. Some of his other hobbies included: Legos, drawing, playing the guitar, and watching basketball. He was an avid Pacers, Michigan Wolverine, and Colts fan. Jason enjoyed Nascar, Mopar, and all things Anime. He was a very loving, kind and generous person who had a big heart. He loved helping others and putting a smile on people’s faces. A very giving personality, he was well loved and touched the lives of many. Jason especially loved children and would often dress up as Captain America for sick children in the hospital.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son: Zaelyn Lane; brother: Nicholas Franklin of Tallahassee, Florida; sisters: Mandy Franklin and Amber Franklin both of Cibolo, Texas; grandparents: Richard & Elvern Neubauer of Michigan and Shirley Franklin of Washington; the love of his life: Emily Sabat of Franklin, Tennessee; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Jim Franklin; and uncle: Tom Neubauer.
To honor his life, you are welcome to wear your favorite super hero attire to his visitation and funeral.
