Jason Boyd West, age 58, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at his home.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5th, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Ricky Clay officiating. The family will visit with friends and loved ones on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the service time. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jason was born on May 10, 1966, in Columbia, Tennessee, to J.B. and Gladys West. He graduated from Columbia State Community College and dedicated 25 years of service as a talented and compassionate x-ray technician at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His professional excellence and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on his colleagues and patients alike.
Jason had a profound love for music and an extraordinary talent for creating intricate native crafts. He and his wife, Linda, traveled to various states, sharing his craftsmanship at Pow Wows. Beyond his artistic gifts, Jason was a skilled mechanic with a passion for working on cars. He was particularly proud of restoring his grandfather’s 1988 Chevrolet Caprice alongside his oldest grandson. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles with his grandsons, creating cherished memories on the open road.
Jason was known for his tender heart and unwavering devotion to his wife of 34 years, Linda Irene West. As she lovingly reflected, "He made me a better person." His kindness and gentle soul will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Irene West; his sister, Sonya (Don) Wyatt; and his treasured grandsons, Jacob Elliott and Alexander Elliott; nephews and nieces, Carson Wyatt, Ethan Wyatt, and Savannah Sharp; and a great niece, Reese Sharp.
He was preceded in death by his infant twin brother, and his grandparents, John B. and Rebecca West and Mack and Clara Baker Choate.
Jason's legacy of love, craftsmanship, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
