Jeffery Gene Janssen

Jeffery Gene Janssen, age 52, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center. 

Born on June 28, 1972, in Clarion, Iowa, Jeff was the son of Norine Dunn Davis and Jimmy Gene Janssen. A true outdoorsman, Jeff was happiest when surrounded by nature. He loved exploring the woods, spending time hunting, and taking long peaceful walks. Jeff loved music, which was a constant source of joy and connection for him. Above all, he cherished his family, especially his children, whom he loved deeply.

In a final act of generosity, Jeff chose to be an organ donor, giving the gift of life and hope to others. His memory will live on not only in the hearts of his family and friends but also through the lives he touched and saved through this selfless act.

He is survived by his son, Jeffery Gene Janssen, II, and his other children, Tia, Hunter, Ashton, and Lexi, his brothers, Thomas Charles Bennett, Richard Michael (Renee) Bennet, and a host of beloved grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Maury Regional Medical Center and the staff at Tennessee Donor Services for their excellent care for Jeff during this difficult time.

There will be no public service at this time. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
