Jennifer Lee Baker Morton, age 46, a resident of Murfreesboro, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, at St. Thomas West Hospital.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Chris Rimes and Kevin Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on April 17, 1975, in Davidson County, Jennifer was the daughter of Peggy Dugger Davenport and Royce Davenport. She was a graduate of Oakland Highschool in Murfreesboro and was currently working as an educational assistant for the Rutherford County School System.
A very family-oriented woman, Jennifer loved her family and friends and was a wonderful mother to her three sons. She was especially proud to be the sister of Steve and Shane Morton and made sure everyone knew it! Jennifer never met a stranger, was always willing to help, and always offered a listening ear. A great sense of humor, she lit up any room she walked in and was always smiling and laughing. Jennifer was a big wrestling fan and an excellent dart player, winning the Tennessee State Champion three times.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sons, Trey Clardy, Cole Clardy, and Carson Baker all of Murfreesboro, brothers, Steve (Debbie) Morton of Murfreesboro, Shane (Virginia) Morton of Columbia, sisters, Vicki Spain of Dickson, Vicky Davenport of Murfreesboro, and Carrie Tucker of Murfreesboro, nieces and nephews, Justin Fralix, Jerilynn Morton, David Morton AKA “The Golden Child”, Cody Morton, Tyler Morton, great nieces and nephews, Bentley Berry, Caysin Hodge, Faith Fralix, Dean Morton, Presleigh Morton, and cousins, James Spain, Amber Spain, Hunter King, Tannyn King, Chelsea Glover, Macey Reese, Collin Brazier, Kevin King, and Shannon Brazier.
She was preceded in death by her biological parents, Patricia Gower and Ronnie Clark, stepfather, Steve Parker, niece Amanda Spain, great nephew, Samuel Morton, cousin, Dylan King, and aunt, Linda Weatherford.
Pallbearers will be Justin Fralix, Jerilynn Morton, David Morton, Cody Morton, Tyler Morton, and Kevin Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will include all the current and former faculty and students at Rocky Fork Middle School, Rockvale Middle and Elementary Schools, Rock Springs Middle School, and her friends and family from the dart and wrestling associations.
