March 28, 1954 - December 31, 2019

Jerry Wayne Gray “Graydog,” age 65, a native of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on December 31, 2019 at Maury Regional Hospital after a short illness. He was surrounded by his son and his loving family.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy (Massie) Gray, sons, Jerry Wayne Gray Jr. and William Tommie Gray, a granddaughter, Sarah; sisters: Barbara (Bobby) Ashworth, Lois Harrington, Abbie Gray, Judy (Gabe ) Cuevas, all of Hohenwald; brothers; William Gray of Sylacauga, Alabama and Michael Gray of Hohenwald and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He also had a friend Kenneth Stanfill, who helped him during his illness, and let’s not forget His little doggie LuLu whom he loved very much !!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Tommie Gray and Birdie Inez Staggs Gray of Columbia, Tennessee. Sisters Linda Gray Varnadoe, Brooksville, Florida, and Dedra Maureen Gray Savannah, Tennessee brother Jackie Gray Columbia Tennessee and niece Lisa Gray of Sylacauga Alabama.

Jerry loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved reading his Bible. One of his favorite things to do was eat a good ole homemade country meal which consisted of turnip greens, beans, potatoes, cornbread, and a cold glass of milk followed by a bowl of ice cream!!

Jerry will be truly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

The family will have a memorial service from 2-4PM on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Blondy Church Life Center: 529 Swan Avenue, Hohenwald, TN to celebrate his life. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
