Jerry T. Hodges

August 13, 1950 — January 28, 2019

Mr. Jerry Thomas Hodges, age 68, husband of Cynthia Pressnell Hodges, and a resident of Terrace Drive in Columbia, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 6PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Ron Skeeters officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 4-6PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 13, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama, Jerry was the son of the late George William Hodges and the late Mona Jean Parsons Hodges. He was a 1968 graduate of Fairfield High School in Birmingham, Alabama and married Cynthia Pressnell on April 22, 1984.

He worked as the project manager for a regional general contracting company overseeing projects all over the Eastern side of the United States and was most recently the owner of Sliding Rock Management in Columbia.

He was the Lieutenant Governor of the Rotary International Club and the past President of the Breakfast Rotary Club. Jerry was a graduate of Leadership Maury, active in business development with Maury Alliance, and a Better Business Bureau board member. Above all, he was devoted to God, his wife, family and country.

In his spare time, Jerry was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, golfing, bird hunting, and horseback riding.

In addition to his wife, Cynthia of thirty-five years, he is survived by his children: Benson Hodges of Columbia, TN and Hunter Hodges of Columbia, TN; brother: George William (Pamela) Hodges, Jr. of Griffin, GA; sister: Kay Capps Naugher of Pleasant Grove, AL; and nieces and nephews: Lane (Darcy) Hodges, Lee Carbone, Matt Naugher, Mona Capps, and Shane Capps.
