Jimmy Manire of Columbia, Tennessee

October 26, 1926 - April 10, 2019

Jimmy L. Manire, age 92, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday evening April 10, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Stan Napier officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery in Cornersville with military honors provided by the United States Army. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on October 26, 1926 in Rutherford County, TN. Jimmie was the son of the late John Henry Manire and the late Willie Mae Wright Manire. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. In 1962 Jimmy became owner and operator of Jim’s Auto Accessories Inc, with his wife Hazel, who preceded him in death on April 8 ^th , 2011. He loved serving his customers and working side by side with his son, Kenny. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing. Playing country and bluegrass music on guitar was another passion he enjoyed with his friends. Every couple of weeks, Jim enjoyed getting together for a meal with his son, Kenny, and a group of their buddies, for what they fondly referred to as “The Feed”. He was a devoted father and grandfather who will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived his son: Kenny (Dionne) Manire of Columbia; daughters: Jean (Jack) Wardlaw of Columbia, Becky Ferruccio of Thompsons Station; brothers: Harold Manire of California, Austin “Doc” Manire of Chapel Hill; and grandchildren: Sam Ferruccio, Mia Manire, Gabrielle Ferruccio, Eva Manire, Nina Manire, and Martha Jane Manire.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Hazel Manire; sisters: Sara Smith, Johnnie Mai Manire; and brothers: Malcolm, Earl, William, Herbert, and Mark Manire.

The family would like to extend their most heartfelt appreciation to his caregivers, Leigh Ann Moss and Susan Hennessey, who helped spoil him during the last two months of his life, along with the staff of Maury Regional Home Healthcare employees Josie and Sam.

Pall Bearers are Jeff Rummage, Brett DeVitt, Wade Patton, Johnny Manire, Matt Guttowsky, Maury Ring, Mike Futral, and Danny McCracken.

Honorary Pall Bearers are Terry Gilbert, Sr., Cecil Kelley, Cyndi Meacham, Jason Guttowsky, J.B. Bryant, Ralph Rochelle, Reed Manier, and all his friends from “The Feed”.
