Mr. James “Jimmy” T. Southall, age 76, a former resident of the Cross Bridges Community, passed away Tuesday morning, April 23, 2019 at Life Care Center.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bob Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on June 3, 1942 in Maury County, Jimmy was the son of the late Harold Turner Southall and the late Dorothy Johnson Southall. He served his country in the Tennessee National Guard as a Sergeant in communications. Jimmy was of the Baptist faith and was retired as an instrument repairman for Columbia Power and Water Systems. He was an amateur radio operator and belonged to the American Radio Relay League and the Maury Radio Amateur Club both of which he was very active.
He is survived by his son: Randy Neal Southall; daughter: Melissa Oglesby; cousin: Jane (Charles) McPeak; and aunt: Katherine Raymer.
Pallbearers will be: Bob Stewart, Ashley Brown, Roy Bradley, Ron Lynch, and John Moyers.
Honorary pallbearers will include: Charles McPeak, Robert “Cactus” Gay, Andreas Eastep and Ben Pennington.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Life Care and The Bridge, Dr. Gibran Naddy, Dr. Lucy Ledbetter, and Terry Gordon with CPWS for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
