Joan Lynn Barnett

Joan Lynn Barnett, age 56, a resident of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her family.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Joan was born in Moline, Illinois, on December 6, 1967, to the late Leonard Knudsen and the late Mona Gray.

Joan had a deep love for the outdoors, especially camping and riding quarter horses. She found joy in playing cards, listening to music, and dancing. Joan was also a movie enthusiast and had a natural talent for telling jokes, always bringing laughter to those around her.  Joan’s dogs held a special place in her heart. But nothing brought her more happiness than her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren.  Joan had a servant’s heart, always willing to lend an ear and offer advice. She was a trusted confidante to many, known for her warmth, kindness, and wisdom. With a “sweet tooth” and a love for life’s simple pleasures, she found immense happiness at her home which she referred to as her “piece of paradise”. She will be remembered for her sassy humor, her love for her family and friends, and the joy she brought to everyone she met. Joan's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Joan is survived by son, Wyatt Barnett (Alison) of Culleoka; grandchildren, Jett Barnett and Pearl Barnett; and sister, Trisha (Brandon).

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brothers, Lenny Knudsen, Jr., Christian Knudsen and Jeff Knudsen.
