Joanne Louise Lewis

Joanne Louise Lewis, age 85, resident of Mt. Pleasant, and formerly of Culleoka and Santa Fe, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26 ^th at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Adkisson officiating.  Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends on Thursday, August 25 ^th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Joanne was born in Hackensack, New Jersey and was the daughter of the late Rudolph Kollay and the late Florence Louise Allison Kollay.  She lived in Culleoka where she was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church.  She was a hard-working lady who had many jobs working as a manager and interior decorator for a family restaurant called Amesbury Café in McMinnville.  Joanne also worked at JC Pennys and later was a private care sitter for many people.  She was a giving person being a part of The Baptist Women and The Home Demonstration Club in Campbell Station.  Some of her hobbies included line dancing in Santa Fe, tending to her flowers, and being outdoors.  She also enjoyed traveling and loved her cat.  She later attended Elmore Church of the Nazarene in Santa Fe.  Joanne will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Drew (Jennifer) Lewis of Santa Fe, and grandson, Andrew Lewis; and her special daughter, Victoria (Neil) McGuire of Columbia, and grandson, Brent Smith.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Lewis; son, Craig Jackson Lewis; and sister, Judy Case.

Pallbearers will be Chris Jett, Kevin Ingram, Mike Goldman, Paul Young, Brent Smith, and Andrew Lewis.  Honorary pallbearers will be all the staff at Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehabilitation Center.
