Joe W. King, Jr.

Mr. Joe W. King, Jr., age 71, husband of Joanne Martin King, and resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Ricky Clay and Theodore Durham officiating.  Burial will follow in Sparkman Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Saturday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Joe was born on October 29, 1949 in Williamson County and was the son of the late Joe King, Sr. and the late Lucille Warren Peters.  He married Joanne Martin on September 26, 1969. Joe was an excellent stone artist who loved nature and the outdoors, often taking care of and feeding the many animals. Above all, he loved God and his family. He attended Theta Church of Christ.

Along with his wife, Joanne Martin King, he is survived by his son: Chad (Jessica) King; daughters: Cindy King and Jessica (Eddie) Maynard; brothers: Eddie (Rosemary) King and Harold (Susan) King; sister: Betty (Jerry) Martin; and six grandchildren: Dallas King, Dalton King, Ava King, Hannah Maynard, Brandon Maynard, and Gracie Fewell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter: Josie Schmidt; and brother: Danny King.

Mr. King’s family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
