John Barnes

July 14, 1958 - May 2, 2020

Mr. John Earl Barnes, age 61, a resident of Lawrenceburg, previously of Columbia, passed away Saturday morning, May 2, 2020 at his residence.

A private family graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 14, 1958 in Nashville, John was the son of the late Joseph Barnes and the late Lucille Irvine Barnes. He worked several years for the Maury County Landfill and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Ethridge. He loved helping people and enjoyed fishing, going to flea markets and traveling.

He is survived by companion, Darlene Allen of Lawrenceburg; brothers: David (Nora) Barnes of Virginia, Clay Barnes of Columbia, James Barnes of Columbia, Bill (Christi) Barnes of Chattanooga; sister, Mary Riggins of Mt. Pleasant; and adopted grandson, Jonathan Addington.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Jo Barnes.
