John Albert Brooks, Jr.

John Albert Brooks, Jr., age 34, resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 11AM at Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 10-11AM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 3, 1986 in Columbia, John was the son of the late John Albert Brooks, Sr. and the late Tina Diane Cathey Brooks. He was an all-around family man who loved playing football with his children. He enjoyed his work as a lumberjack.

He is survived by his son, John Brooks; daughter, Jana Brooks; step daughters: Deaisha Mosley and De’Kiya Mosley; sister, Jacqueline Brooks (Timothy Jones); girlfriend, Alison “Nickie” Mosley; nephews: Marquavis Golden, Ja’Marion Brooks; dear cousin, Tyeisha Cathey; devoted friend, Brandon Sylmar; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Biffle, Tyrone Pierce, Tony Pierce, Tyrell Pierce, Chris Cathey and Marco Dailey. Honorary pallbearers will include: Brandon Sylmar, Antione Boyce, Derick Cathey, Steven Turrnetine, Taracus Morris, Steven Robinson, and Christopher Secrest.
