John E. Davis

Mr. John E. Davis, age 67, a resident of Duck River, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 1PM at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 29, 1951 in Shelbyville, John was the son of the late Jesse Lee Davis and the late Christine Ivey Davis Potts. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War with the 173 ^rd Airborne at L Z English. He was a member of the In Country Vets Motorcycle Club and a member of the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association. John was one of the founding members of the Vietnam Vets of America. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping, target shooting, and riding motorcycles. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons: Christopher A. Davis (Kimberly Gilbert) of Duck River, Jesse L. (Tanya) Davis of Lyles; grandchildren: Jesse “Shamus” Davis, Caleigh Davis, Chloe Davis, Kyle Ragsdale, Riley Gilbert; and beloved Pit Bull: Stormy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Debbie Davis; twin brother: Donnie Davis; and sister: Connie Patterson.
