John William Rogers of Columbia, Tennessee

John William Rogers, age 86, resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with David Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Maury Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the US Air Force. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon till service time at Heritage Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mike Rogers, Dwight Rogers, Matthew Rogers, Erik Rogers, Chad Rogers and Jimmy Rogers. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with their services.

John was born in Giles County on November 20, 1933 and was the son of the late Elias Elsie Rogers and late Ethel Wilburn Rogers and he was the husband of Jeanette Jordan Rogers. He worked as a foreman for General Motors and loved to fish and go shrimping. John served in the US Air Force and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his sons: Mike (Wanda) Rogers of Columbia and Dwight (Jennifer) Rogers of Newnan, GA; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
