Johnny Eugene Davis

February 3, 1971 — June 18, 2021

Johnny Eugene Davis, age 50, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.


A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 22 nd at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with William Bundrant officiating.  Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.  A visitation will be held on Monday, June 21 st from 4-8 PM at the funeral home and again on Tuesday from 10AM until the service hour.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Johnny was born on February 3, 1971 and was the son of the late Donald Pritchard Davis and the late Sheila Kay Derryberry Davis.  He graduated from Central High School in 1989.  He had a love of food which led him to going to Culinary School.  He became a wonderful chef and enjoyed cooking for others.  He would search the world over to find unique dining experiences to share with family and friends. Johnny was a longtime member of The Elks Lodge and was a member of the Whiskey University Bourbon Club. He worked for CORE Real Estate in Franklin and liked investing and flipping properties.  Johnny was a man that enjoyed life to its fullest.  There was never a dull moment with him.  He liked traveling, fishing, and going to the river.  Most of all Johnny cherished being a loving and supportive father to Jon Carter and was always his #1 fan at all soccer games.  He also treasured taking road trips with Jon Carter and sharing his love of cooking.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Jon Carter Davis of Columbia; brother, Donald Wayne (Sybil) Davis of Culleoka; nephews, Chance Davis and Chase Davis; mother of his child, Megan (Scott) Wells.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Goatz, Dax Russell, Rob Tyree, Ricky Dunn, Joey Bell, JP Patterson, and Don Patterson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Thrasher, Ben White, David Inch, Jim Johnson, Brewster Pate, Bryan Cole, Keith Patterson, and the Arsenal Soccer Team.
