Mr. Joseph Lee Smith, age 75, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on September 25, 2024, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home.

Joseph was born on November 13, 1948 to the late Willie Lee Smith Sr. and the late Loubertha Cheers Smith. Joseph proudly served in the United States Marines Corps for five years. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his yard, watching old western television shows and movies, and watching old war movies. Joseph loved his family unconditionally, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Golden Smith, daughter, Eurica Lewis, grandchildren, Denzel Lewis, Adonte Taylor, Amyah Ball, Marionna Taylor, Madison Goodwin, and Aniyah Polk, great granddaughter, Aria D. Lewis, sisters, Birdie Mae Smith, Phyllis A. Abrams, and Amie L. Vorrice, god daughters, Taneisha Taylor, Laqunda Taylor, and Shaquilla (Michael) Goodwin, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Willie Lee Smith Jr., and sisters, Minnie Pearl Walker, Martha Ann Tolbert, and Louise Wooley.
