Joyce M Wright

Mrs. Joyce M. Wright, age 77, beloved wife of Gary Wright, and a resident of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at her residence. 

Born on July 25, 1947, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Joyce was the daughter of the late Kenneth Smith and the late Hazel Campbell Smith. On May 29, 1965, she married Gary Wright, and together they shared sixty years of cherished memories. 

Joyce dedicated twenty-seven years as a human resource manager at K-Mart before working as a bank teller at First Farmers and Merchants Bank. She was a devoted member of Coleman Methodist Church in Lawrenceburg and lived her faith through kindness and service to others.

An adventurous spirit, Joyce loved traveling the world. She also found joy in cooking, golfing, and cheering on her grandchildren at their ball games. An avid Vanderbilt Commodores fan, she never missed an opportunity to support her favorite team.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Jeff Wright, Keith (Rebecca) Wright, daughter, Jill (Matthew) Daniel, sister in law, Darlene Smith, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, with another expected soon.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenny Smith. 

A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM with visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Coleman Methodist Church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
