Karen Yvonne Ogilvie Richardson, age 60, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Doctor Larry Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Columbia, Karen was born on October 24, 1961, and was the daughter of the late Joe Willie Ogilvie and the late Willie Mae Ingram Ogilvie. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and worked as a CNA for many years at NHC Columbia. She most recently worked six years at Target in Thompsons Station. Karen loved going to church and attended numerous churches in Maury County. She was a member of Faith United Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed taking pictures and especially loved to crochet. Karen loved her family and was always there cheering on her son when he played sports. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, William Joseph (Nashika) Jefferson of Hohenwald, sisters, Faye Diggs, Linda Cooper, Patricia Ogilvie, and Vanessa Ogilvie all of Columbia, grandchildren, Mariah Jefferson, Aniya Jefferson, Hunter Jefferson, Ryliee Jefferson, Bella Williams, Ta’maya Nelson, and Jr. Nelson, nieces, LaTasha (Corey) Morgan, Brianca Cooper, Adrienne Cooper, Ashley Gilbreath, and a host of cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Richardson, and grandchild, Zanaya Jefferson.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Armstrong, Eric Lacy, Alvin Lacy, Bobby Joe McClain, Chris Norwood, and Joseph Jefferson. Karen’s nieces will serve as flower girls.
