Karen Annette Woods, age 61, a resident of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Lawrenceburg.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 29, 1962, in Jasper, Alabama, Karen was the daughter of the late Edward Lynn Smith and the Delores Barnes Smith.

Karen was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing and decorating her kids’ rooms, creating spaces filled with love and creativity. Her spirit extended beyond her family as she found joy in taking care of others, working at the local nursing home. In her leisure time, Karen loved fishing, a hobby she enjoyed throughout her life. Karen spent the last 42 years with the love of her life, George. She loved her family unconditionally.

Karen is survived by her husband, George Woods; son, Deirk Winsett; daughters, Georgia (Ben) Cooper, Cheryl Daniels, and Tracey Winsett; brother, Tommy Smith; sisters, Tina (George) Miller and Diane Warlick; seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
