Karen Elaine Wray, age 56, wife of Danny Wray, and a resident of Culleoka, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Sis. Inez Jones and Bro. Mark Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Boshers Family Cemetery in Hampshire. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on April 5, 1965, in Maury County, Karen was the daughter of George Layne McClendon, Sr. and the late Betty Lou Rogers McClendon. She was the coordinator of incentives for Farm Bureau Insurance where she worked for twenty-one years. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and was a member of Pentecostals Church of Christ. Karen loved singing and enjoyed taking pictures, playing cards with her church family, and going on trips to the mountains. Above all, she loved her family, especially her husband, children, and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by her daughter, Tiffany (Thad) Runions of Mt. Pleasant, son, Daniel (Suzanne) Wray of Pulaski, brother, Joey (Stephanie) McClendon, brothers in law, Donny Boshers, Freddie (Shannon) Wray, and grandchildren, Kadence Runions, Maybree Runions, Austin Willis, Peyton Willis, and Zak Wray.
Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Boshers and brother, Steve McClendon.
Pallbearers will be Donny Boshers, Austin Willis, Peyton Willis, Joey McClendon, Freddie Wray, and Tanner Wray. Honorary pallbearers will include Phil Erwin, Mary Frances Moore, Renee Click, members of Pentecostals Church of Christ, and employees and agents of Farm Bureau Insurance.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital for their care and compassion for Karen.
