Kathleen Madden

July 18, 1962 — March 28, 2020

Kathleen Lenora Madden, Columbia, Tennessee: July 18, 1962 – March 28, 2020

Following her courageous battle with cancer, Kathleen passed to her heavenly reward on Saturday, March 28. People routinely commented on how she faced this implacable foe with faith, grace, her smile and a positive attitude; frequently reaching out to others facing medical challenges.

She is survived by her loving husband(of 15 years) Rich; adoring children Jordan (Kristin) Mitchell, Aurora, Colorado and Meredith (Chris) Reeves and granddaughter to be Lenora, Columbia, Tennessee; parents Frances and Gerald Schroeder, Aurora, CO; sister Janet (Ed) Chapple, Aurora, CO; sister in law Lisa (Stephen) Lantz, Nova Scotia; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.

A business graduate of Freed Hardeman University, Kathleen operated her own business (Stitch By Stitch), and then held several payroll positions of increasing responsibility, culminating as payroll supervisor for National Health Care Corporation.

She loved her Lord and family both near and far. When not spending time with family and special friends (Tracy and Deb) Kathleen enjoyed playing golf, reading, movies, sewing, tending to her flowers, baking her famous chocolate chip cookies and decorating the house for holidays, especially Christmas.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Williamson Medical Center, Tennessee Oncology, Vanderbilt Radiology and NHC Maury Transitional Care for their love and support.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 12PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will be held of Friday, July 17, 2020 from 6-8PM and again on Saturday from 11AM-12PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Madden’s favorite colors were pink and purple. Feel free to dress casually and in these colors to honor her. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Spring Meadows Church of Christ, Spring Hill, TN.
