Kathleen Donald “Sister” Pugh, age 60, a resident of Spring Hill, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at her residence after a challenging battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Port Gibson, Mississippi and was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mary R. Donald. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Robert Alexander Pugh.

Sister is survived by brothers, Col. (retired Army) Jeffery (Leah) Donald, Charles (Shelby) Donald, Jr., George (Kaye) Donald, David (Dana) Donald, sister, Patricia Donald, sister-in-law, Judy Holland, and brother-in-law, Joseph Holland. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sister is also survived by a very special lifelong and loyal friend, Carol Ruth Guthrie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a great mother-in-law and friend, Emily P. Pugh.

Sister was a graduate of Chamberlin-Hunt Academy in Port Gibson and attended Mississippi State University where she enjoyed membership in Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and a robust social life.  She was a graduate of The University of Mississippi Medical University and enjoyed a 38-year career as a dental hygienist.  Over the years, many patients became and remained friends as she sought to make a trip to the dentist enjoyable.  Although her diploma was issued by The University of Mississippi, she remained a dedicated and enthusiastic Mississippi State Bulldog fan. Sister had a vibrant social life and enjoyed attending and organizing gatherings of family, friends, and neighbors.

An interment service at the columbarium on the grounds of the First Presbyterian Church of Nashville will be limited to immediate family due to Covid concerns and church capacity limitations. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends and family to enjoy time together sharing stories and memories about Sister’s infectious personality, incredibly positive outlook and ability to generate laughter. If donation is desired, please consider gifts to First Presbyterians Church, P.O. Box 517, Port Gibson, Mississippi 38150, or First Presbyterian Church of Nashville, 4185 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN 37220. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
