KayKay Crosby

Carolyn Elaine "KayKay" Crosby, age 62, a beloved resident of Columbia, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Tri-Star Centennial Hospital in Nashville.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenny Anderson, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Missionary Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on September 21, 1962, in Columbia, Tennessee, KayKay was the daughter of the late Lester Crosby, Sr., and the late Rosie Lee Lockridge Crosby. She was a 1980 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She attended cosmetology school and trained for her career in nursing and caregiving. She had a warm and generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. A natural caregiver, she was an inspiration and mother figure to many young women in her community. She enjoyed cooking, sitting outside, and cheering on her loved ones at sporting events. Her outgoing nature and kind heart left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

KayKay is survived by her loving son, Waynon Leazae Duke of Columbia; sister-in-law, Charline Crosby of Columbia; aunt, Martha Crosby of Columbia; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lester Crosby, Jr.

KayKay’s love and generosity will forever be cherished by those who were blessed to know her.
