Mr. Keith Robert Whitmore, age 48, a resident of Lewisburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 9, 2023.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Lyndall Propst officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born July 2, 1974, Keith was the son of the late Rader L. Whitmore and the late Lena M. Whitmore. He was an A-EMT with Maury Regional Medical Center. Keith was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt, a love passed down to his children. He was involved with Fire Departments and EMS across several states, involved as a first responder beginning in the early 1990’s. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, love and willingness to help his fellow man. Looked to as a mentor by many, he was always willing to help and share his knowledge. His main love in life was his children, they are his purest form of pride.
Keith was born in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia and raised in Higdon, Alabama. A graduate of North Sand Mountain in Higdon, class of 1993. He moved several times as an adult from Alabama to Georgia onto Florida a brief stay in Virginia before settling in Middle Tennessee for the past twenty years.
Keith is survived by his wife Jeneal Whitmore. In addition his sons, Adam (Maggie) Whitmore of St. Charles, MN, Austin Whitmore of Rochester, MN, Matthew Rippetoe (stepson) of Lewisburg, TN, David Whitmore of Lewisburg, TN, Jason Whitmore of Lewisburg, TN and Hunter Whitmore of Lewisburg, TN; daughter Makayla Whitmore of Lewisburg, TN; brothers Dennis Whitmore of Bryant, Al, Danny (Joyce) Whitmore of Pisgah, AL; sister Denise (Terry) Grizzle of Cordele, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Autumn Whitmore and a sister Denita Louise Whitmore.
Pallbearers will be Adam Whitmore, Matthew Rippetoe, Dylan Scharlau, Zack Wray, William Miles and Matt Gaines. Honorary pallbearers will include Maury Regional EMS and his first responder family.
