Kenneth David Cox, DVM age 74 of Hohenwald, TN passed away April 21, 2025, in Columbia, TN. Born January 6, 1951, in Belle Union, Indiana to Mildred and Paul Cox, Dr. Cox was the youngest of five boys. He graduated in the class of 1975 from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. He was a member of the National Veterinary Students Honor Society, Phi Zeta and a lifetime member of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association. After graduation and internships, he opened a practice in Brazil, Indiana. He served the community until his retirement in December of 2019.

Dr. Cox was a talented hobby photographer and enjoyed capturing stunning images of family trips, landscapes, and wildlife, having a particular fondness for taking images of birds. He was a patient and kind veterinarian. More importantly, he was a role model and mentor to his children and grandchildren.

He passed away at Maury Regional Medical Center after a lengthy hospital stay due to complications of failing health combined with Alzheimer’s and Parkinsons diseases. He is survived by his brother Dennis of Ann Arbor, MI. He is also survived by his wife of 35 years, Lynda, daughters Casey, Carla, and Justine and son Jason, as well as grandchildren Keith, Jadelynn, Lucas, Austin, Brinna, and Eli.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Paul, and brothers Wayne, Norman, and Jerry.

Per his expressed wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and location to be determined.
