Kenneth “Ken” Paul Long, age 73, a resident of Summertown, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 2:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends from 10:30AM – 2:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ken was born in Lewis County, Tennessee, on July 19, 1951, to the late William Leo Long and the late Pearl Olene Giles Long. Ken was married to the love of his life, Theresa Riddle, with whom he shared over five decades of cherished memories. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a maintenance technician in the automotive industry. He dedicated much of his life to farming alongside his family.
Ken was an avid Harley-Davidson rider who found freedom and joy on the open road. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also delighted in watching his grandchildren play basketball, always cheering them on from the sidelines. His love for his family and his passion for life will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Riddle Long; sons, Rodney (Cindy) Long and Kevin (Dieann) Long; sister, Jane (Ricky) Blackwell; grandchildren, Wyatt Long (Hannah), Rylee Long, Madison (Andrew) Lomax, and Hamilton (Lindsey) Lomax; and great grandchildren, Walker and Bowen Long.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Long and J.W. Long.
