Kenneth Steward

Mr. Kenneth Dale Steward, age 71, a resident of the Water Valley Community, passed away Tuesday morning, January 14, 2020 at Tennessee Valley Healthcare System in Nashville.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 12-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Kenneth was born on April 14, 1948 and was the son of the late Walker Jackson Steward and the late Eunice Westmoreland Steward. He was a 1966 graduate of Santa Fe School and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Kenneth was a hard worker who spent most of his life working in construction and carpentry. He especially enjoyed hanging out at Fly Store with his buddies.

He is survived by his wife and longtime partner, Pam; daughter, Paula (Anthony) Marshall of Mt. Pleasant; brothers: Charles Steward of Primm Springs, Everett (Clara) Steward of Santa Fe; sisters: Barbara Chessor of Columbia, Ann Babcock of Franklin, Melvie (Roy) Potts of Santa Fe, Kathy Steward of Santa Fe; and grandchildren: Addison Marshall and Stratton Marshall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: R.W. Steward, Dean Steward, Ronnie Steward, Bob Steward; and sister, Mary Goodman.

Pallbearers will be: Anthony Marshall, Frank Stewart, Jerry Sharp, and Bobby Hatcher.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
