Kenny Johnson

Robert  Kenneth "Kenny" Johnson, 65, of Kempner, Texas passed away on November 11, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on October 23, 1956, in Nashville, Tennessee to Robert Benton Johnson and Marjorie Quirk Johnson Toy. Robert had lived in Kempner since 1994, moving there after completing four tours of duty in Germany. He had always called Texas home though. Robert married Lilly Annette Dial on May 31, 1975, between rain showers, in the front yard of her home in Santa Fe, Tennessee. They enjoyed over 45 years of marriage. Mr. Johnson was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, he loved old cars and watching Westerns. Robert joined the US Army at age 18 and proudly served for 22 years. He also had worked at First Community Services in Killeen for 22 years. He was of the Baptist faith.


Robert is survived by his wife, Lilly Annette Johnson of Kempner, one son, Paul Daniel Johnson, and wife Ginia of Harker Heights, one daughter, Karen Emily Hodges, and husband David of Lampasas, and one sister, Debbie Baker, and husband Keith of Santa Fe, Tennessee. He leaves behind two precious granddaughters, Alexandria Sage Johnson, and Cassandra Rose Johnson and one grandpuppy, Gidget.


He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Dianne Boone, stepfather, Lester Toy, as well as several other loving relatives.


There will be a visitation time from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas. The funeral service will be the following day, Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas, officiated by Chaplain Luke Livewell.
