Kimberly Suzanne Ray

June 5, 1963 — August 7, 2021

Kimberly Suzanne Ray (nee Wilson), aged 58 of Lewisburg, TN, passed away the weekend of August 7, 2021.

Kim was a loving mother, at times embarrassingly affectionate with her kids and grandson, and always quick to say how proud she was of even the smallest accomplishments.  She demonstrated the values she wanted her children to learn, including service to others and one's country, compassion, and kindness.  As a nurse, she was beloved by patients and their families for her warm manner and endless empathy.  She was also a Flight Nurse in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and was thrilled when her son, Trey, entered the same branch of service after college.  Throughout her life, Kim excelled at everything she put her mind to -- she was a state champion long-distance runner in high school; she put herself through college as a young mother of two and graduated with honors; and she won several awards for her skill as a nurse.  Her laugh was loud and genuine, her smile was beautiful and frequent, and her love for family, friends, and animals of all kinds was boundless.

Kim is survived by her daughter, Julie, and grandson, Aidan; her son, Trey; her mother, Mary Jane; her brother, Rick; and many, many friends, including Erika, both Annettes, Pamela, and her pastor, Julie.  She is also survived by her former husband and dear friend, Walter.

Kim wanted all of her loved ones to know how much she appreciated their support and that she loved them very much.

At this time, there will be no public service. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with arrangements.
