Gerry Lane Clanton, age 29, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 24th at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Lindstrom officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens, located adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 25, 1989 in Lawrenceburg, Lane was the son of Brady and Karen Turbett. He attended Santa Fe High School. He was a host for many restaurants, but was an entrepreneur. He enjoyed all kinds of music and was an avid reader. He wrote several short stories and poems. He treasured spending time with his sister, friends and family. Most of all he loved being the center of attention and making everyone around him happy. When he was younger Lane attended Grace Church of the Nazarene and was very involved in the youth group under Pastor Rick Harvey and Dave Vallandingham.
In addition to parents, he is survived by his sister: Tiffanny (Michael) Martin of Columbia; aunts: Beverly (Greg) Turner of Summertown and Connie Bircheat of Columbia; uncles: Keith (Kathy) Evans of Summertown and Scott Clanton of Ethridge; and grandmother: Estell Clanton of Ethridge.
Lane was preceded in death by his grandmother: Rachel Holland; grandfather: Jerry Clanton; and father: Darryl Wade Clanton.
Pallbearers will be his family and friends.
