Larry Wayne Deatley

Mr. Larry Wayne Deatley, age 74, husband of Ruth Humphries Deatley, and resident of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Joel Love officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Larry was born on July 23, 1947, in Maysville, Kentucky and was the son of the late George Deatley and the late Helen Wagner Deatley. He worked over thirty years for General Motors before retiring in 1999 and most recently worked as a deliveryman for Holland’s Pharmacy for eighteen years. He enjoyed gardening and especially loved ministering to the elderly. He was a member of Scribner’s Mill Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, Ruth of fifty-three years, he is survived by his daughters, Lora Hansel of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Bridget Adams of Ohio, brother, Robert (Lynn) Deatley of Ohio, sisters, Connie Bishop, Penny Roberds, Judy (Karol) Bare all of Ohio, and grandchildren, Sam Kyer, Emily Kyer, Josh Keith, and Meghan Keith.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Clay Deatley and brothers in law, Ivan Bishop and Jeff Roberds.

The men of Scribner’s Mill Church of Christ will serve as active pallbearers.
