Larry Eugene Jett

Larry Eugene Jett, age 69, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday morning, July 5, 2023, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 8, 1954, in Lewisburg, Larry was the son of the late James Eugene Jett and the late Mary Frances Hickman Jett. He was a 1972 graduate of Columbia Central High School and worked many years as a glass glaizer before retiring. He enjoyed shooting dice, playing cards and cornhole, camping, and taking trips to the mountains. He was an avid football fan, especially the Tennessee Vols and Tennessee Titans and was also a Dale Earnhardt fan. Above all, he loved his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Akiva) McKissack of Columbia, siblings, Wanda (Jimmy) Dean, Deborah (Larry Dean) Williams, Diane Kinslow, Beverly (Terry) Hildenbrandt, Teresa Jett, Eddie (Jo) Jett, Darryl Jett, grandchildren, Jillian McKissack, Patrick McKissack, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Akiva McKissack, Patrick McKissack, Jacob Clark, Timmy Hargrove, Jimmy Dean, and Thomas Dean. Honorary pallbearers will include Bobby Smith and Randy Putnam.
