Laura Dawn Wills

Laura Dawn Wills, age 78, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Williamson Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 16, 1944, in Houston, Texas, Laura was the daughter of the late Jesse Salazar and the late Aurora Aquirre Salazar. She was an unfiltered, fiery, free-spirited individual who loved to dance and entertain/throw parties. She loved to dance, listen to music, and enjoy a sweet treat. Above all, she loved her family and will be missed by those who loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Carl (Michelle) Thompson, Benjamin Thompson, daughters, Melissa (William) Matos, Tricia Thompson, Kathryn Wills, brothers, Frank Salazar, Jesse Salazar, sister, Mary Holder, grandchildren, Emily Rose Matos, Alexander Thompson, Hunter Thompson, Sarah Thompson, Emma Thompson, and Michael Brooks, and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved spending time with.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wills, and her first husband, Carl Thompson, Jr.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Carl Thompson, William Matos, Benjamin Thompson, Alexander Thompson, Hunter Thompson, and Michael Brooks.
